Introduction
The Lewes Cooperative Learning Partnership (LCLP) was established in 2014 as a charitable trust with a founding intention to improve the learning outcomes for all Lewes pupils, enhance the effectiveness of all our teaching professionals and deliver a broader range of opportunities for parents and other stakeholders to contribute to the success of our local education services.
The two foundation schools Priory Secondary School and Western Road Primary School were joined by other Partner Schools: Iford and Kingston Primary School, South Malling Primary School and Southover Primary School. The trust Board comprises trustees appointed by the Foundation and Partner Schools with their headteachers automatically holding trustee status.
Trust funding is derived from participating school subscriptions and it holds three Board meetings per year alongside an Annual General Meeting. Other work is conducted by members of occasional working parties nominated by trustees. The trust works closely with the Lewes headteachers’ forum and the Education Improvement Partnership (EIP).
