Dyslexia Awareness Week 2-8th October

5 October

Dyslexia awareness week

Secondary school can be challenging for any child, but for those with dyslexia, it can present even greater hurdles. Dyslexia is a learning difference that affects reading, writing, and spelling abilities, but with the right support, your child can thrive academically and socially.

Dyslexic students are often gifted in areas such as problem solving, seeing the bigger picture, creative and practical subjects. We can encourage them to explore their artistic talents, whether it's through painting, music, or storytelling. We can celebrate their imaginative minds and help them channel their creativity into various academic and extracurricular activities. Dyslexic students may face self-esteem issues due to their struggles with reading and writing. We encourage them to embrace their strengths and interests in a wide range of subjects and extracurricular activities. Supportive words and a nurturing environment can help boost their self-confidence.
